A small, close-knit Marin County community that is home to approximately 2,400 full-time residents residing within its 1.6 square mile borders, Ross is neighbors with the towns of Kentfield, Larkspur, Greenbrae and San Anselmo. The first post office there opened in 1887 and the town incorporated in 1908. Maintaining its original small-town ambiance, with surrounding tree-covered hills, meandering creeks, tastefully landscaped streets and lush gardens, Ross has remained a quintessential slice of Americana. The town’s residents are proud of their 11 acre Marin Art & Garden Center, Ross Historical Society, Property Owners’ Association, K-12 Ross School and Recreation and Park Department.
